Zeromile

art direction

Zeromile is a student-led magazine designed, written, edited, and published by the students of Communication Design program of MSU Denver. For its 13th issue, I served as an Art Director (print) and a Contributing Editor. Besides its print version, Zeromile also has an online presence at www.zeromilemag.com.

Working alongside the Creative Director, I was responsible for establishing a unique look and feel for the issue, designing of its uniting decorative elements, and ensuring a cohesive and consistent layout throughout the publication. The 13th issue’s was focused on theme of CommUnity in the time of the COVID-19 Pandemic. To embrace this topic, the resulting look of the issue was inspired by the modernist aesthetic. We aspired to create a welcoming humanist feel for this issue with implementation of warm colors, choice of curvy font for the headers, and addition of a large number of illustrations and decorative elements. Besides writing articles for print and web, attending to their personal role in production of this issue of Zeromile, every student also designed a unique sticker that was destributed together with the issue.
